The product 3D Touchscreen  includes a piece of  LCD flat panel screen with strong sensors and a robotic arm which can  move it back and forwards. If you want to know how much resistance there is to a user's fingertip the firm , you can see the figures on screen. Microsoft company says the device 3D Touchscreen  could have medical usages  as well as for gaming. Jobs on the project is being carried out at the firm's Redmond campus near Seattle

Simulated shapes

If a person touches the prototype 3D Touchscreen  it pushes back with a light force to make sure one figure stays in contact with the screen.

When they then press against it the robotic arm quickly pulls the screen backwards in a matching smooth action. If they begin to retract their finger, it moves it back towards them.

At the same time  a computer adjusts the size and perspective of the on-screen graphics to create a 3D effect.

The trick to simulating a physical sense of touch is to adjust the amount of force-feedback resistance.

The screen of 3D Touchscreen can recreate the feel of an object's shape by being moved backwards and forwards.
